The North Bay Police Service has arrested a 55-year-old man on drug trafficking and weapon charges.
On February 13, as part of an ongoing investigation, Emergency Response Team and Street Crime Unit officers executed a search warrant on a residence on McIntyre Street East. A suspect was found inside the residence and he was arrested and charged.
Searches by police resulted in the seizure of:
- 0.5 grams of fentanyl
- 28 bottles of methadone
- 0.5 grams of cocaine
- 35 oxycodone pills
- 371 hydromorphone pills
- 80 Clonazepam pills
- 134 Clonidine pills
- 250 Pregabaline pills
- 18 Buprenorphone-Naloxone pills
- 9 Lisdexamphetamine pills
- 45 Oxycocet pills
- A knife that opens with centrifugal force, which makes it a prohibited weapon
- $2,500 in cash
- Drug trafficking equipment
The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $6,400.
Stephen Ellis, 55, of North Bay is charged with:
- Seven counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
Ellis was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
