41-year-old North Bay man charged for weapon possession and drug trafficking

The accused was located outside of a convenience store on O’Brien Street and was wanted by police on an outstanding warrant and arrested

The North Bay Police Service has arrested a 41-year-old man for weapon and drug trafficking offences, and seized approximately $12,000 worth of illegal drugs.

On December 19 a man was seen outside of a convenience store on O’Brien Street. He was wanted by police on an outstanding warrant and was arrested.  A police search found illegal drugs and weapons.

Police seized:

  • 75 grams of cocaine
  • 5 grams of Fentanyl
  • 2 grams of heroin
  • Two knives
  • A can of bear mace
  • Drug trafficking equipment
  • cash

The street value of the drugs seized is approximately $12,000.

Stephen Cornish, 41, of North Bay is charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Two counts of failing to comply with a probation order

Cornish was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
