Tammy Walters-Barnes is a compassionate caregiver who has dedicated much of her time to volunteering and always puts our community’s needs first.
As a local volunteer, Tammy has worked with the Warming Centre and raised funds for the Nipissing Serenity Hospice. She has also given her time to Habitat for Humanity, Northern Lights Co-Op and countless other initiatives aimed at improving the lives of those in North Bay.
“Tammy is a doer. If a neighbour is sick, she will make them food. If someone needs a ride to medical appointments, she will drive them. You don’t ever have to ask her for help. She sees a need and addresses it,” her nominator said to BayToday.
With the help of our generous sponsors, we were able to thank Tammy for all she does for our community with a Random Act of Kindness surprise. Our gift delivery included a $175 gift card provided by Travelling Toes Skincare & Esthetics Boutique, a $175 gift card provided by Tranquility Spa Salon and a gift basket featuring an art piece and other goodies valued at $125 from Gateway to the Arts.
“I was having a rough start to the week so this surprise was just beautiful! It was a very random act that made my week and was so very much appreciated,” said Walters-Barnes.
