Game 1 the Boltz played the Toronto Leaside Wildcats in Scarborough for their first meeting of the year.The Boltz got down early 1-0 but came on strong in the second scoring a pair of goals and continuing their strong play into the third winning the game 5-3.
Game 2 a 7:30pm start in Mississauga the Boltz were up against the Number 12 ranked team in Ontario.The girls played what their coach said was a solid defensive game something the team has been working on at practice all week and playing one of their best games of the season.They outplayed and out shot a fresh chiefs team playing their only game of the weekend 28-16.The bolts scored midway through the second to take a 1-0 lead and hung on to that lead until 16 secs left in the game as the chiefs scored with the goalie on the bench.
Game 3 the Etobicoke dolphins the first place team in the central loop made a visit to Canlan York the home Ice for the Ice Boltz this season.The Dolphins capitalized on their power play scoring twice in the first and adding a even strength goal in the second.The third was a much different Ice Boltz team as they started to pressure and take over the game scoring a early goal to make it 3-1.With girls pressing to getting chances the game was called with just over 4 mins left as the game was curfewed.
Game 4 was a quick turnaround for a 2:30 start the Ice Boltz were playing a familiar team the North York Storm,The two teams played to a 1-1 draw two weeks ago.The Boltz game out strong and dominated the first two periods and leading 3-1 heading to the third.The third the girls started to show some fatigue as a result of 4 games in just over 24 hrs but the girls dug deep and hung on to a 3-2 victory.
This weekend the team will be traveling to the USA/Canada Cup showcase in Kitchener.
The Ice Boltz will be playing some of the top Bantam AA teams in Canada.Their first game is against the number 1 ranked team the Stoney Creek sabres supporting a 35-1 record,other teams the Boltz will face are the 4th rank London Devillettes(16-7-1 record) and the 10th ranked team Durham West Lightning.(15-3-3 record).
