The Vision 17U girls traveled to Pembroke this weekend to compete in the OVA 18U McGregor Cup tournament.
After winning in two straight sets versus the Ottawa Valley Vikings the Vision team would lose game 2 versus DRVC 17U.
DRVC has become a rival team and this was evident as this game went back and forth.
Both teams battled and DRVC managed a two set straight win 26-24 and 25-23.
Vision would finish second in their pool and would face another North Bay team, NBYVC Lakers in the cross over game.
The NBYVC Lakers played a very good game, however they would fall short in two close sets.
The Vision team would go on to play Ottawa Pumas.
The Pumas were ranked first seed, but the Vision 17U girls were ready and played their best game of the day, winning in two straight sets, it was a total team effort! With this win the Vision girls would play in the gold medal match vs DRVC.
This would set up another game versus DRVC 17U but this time the DRVC team would take control and hand the Vision girls a two set straight loss, sending them home with a silver medal.
Coach Gosselin was pleased with the day and feels the team is moving in the right direction.
The Vision team's next action will be the Southern California Classic in Las Vegas NV, Feb 13-15.
Team members include: Aly Lafantaisie, Olivia Valenti, Gen Berardi, Brooke Allerston, Isabelle Rivest, Zoe Gagne, Amanda Justice, Maddie McDiarmid, Zeyana Laplante, Meghan Culin and Emily Heil, Head Coach Danny Gosselin, Asst Coach Dave Hennessy
