The North Bay & District U18 AAA Trappers are coming off a big weekend with a pair of road victories and and one home victory as they go into the home stretch of the Great North U18 season.
The Trappers started the weekend with a convincing 8-3 win over the New Liskeard Cubs at the Don Shepherdson Memorial arena on Friday night.
Owen Head led the team offensively with 1 goal and 3 assists while Noah Kozmick, Hudson Prisco-Duquette and Cam Lockhart head had a pair of goals in the road win. Affiliate Frank Popkie chipped in with 1 goal while Carson Ruddy got the win in goal for the Trappers.
On Saturday in Sturgeon Falls, the Trappers came back from a 5-1 second period deficit to pull out a 7-6 shootout win over the second-place Timmins Majors.
Benjamin Brunton and Cameron Lockhart had two goals each while singles went to Hudson Prisco-Duquette and Noah Kozmick.
Prisco-Duquette's goal in the shootout was the difference maker in the comeback win.
Then on Sunday afternoon in Sudbury, the Trappers edged the Sudbury U16 Wolves 7-6.
Brunton led the offence on Sunday with 4 goals while singles went to Scott Szczygiel, affiliate Cedar Montreuil and Owen Head had the other goals.
With the win, the Trappers remain in fourth place in the league with a 17-11 record.
The Trappers are back on home ice this Thursday, February 15 when they host the first place Sudbury U18 Wolves. Puck drop is 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Gardens.
