Minor Peewee AAA BDI Trappers take part in "Wally Beavis" in Peterborough

The BDI Minor Peewee AAA Trappers took part in the "Wally Beavis Memorial Tournament" this past weekend in Peterborough.

In game one the Trappers lost 2-1 to the Hamilton Bulldogs in a very tight checking, physical game.  Chase Lefebvre had the lone North Bay goal and Andrew Robillard was very strong in the Trapper goal.

Game two saw the Trappers play the eventual tournament Champions Vaughan Kings. The Trappers kept it close through out, trailing 2-1 heading to the third period only to lose by a final score of 4-1. The 4th Vaughan goal was into an empty net.  Caelan McAuliffe made key stops keeping the Kings at bay. Will McCharles scored for the Trappers on a blast from the point.

Saturday morning the Trappers defeated the Ottawa Aces 5-2. The North Bay squad played an aggressive style of hockey causing several Ottawa turn overs that resulted in North Bay goals. Cam Harwood led the charge with 2 goals and 2 assists, while Jim Montgomery, Patrick Etmanski and Lefebvre had singles.

In their final game of the weekend the Trappers took on the North Central Predators in a back and forth affair. The teams were deadlocked 2-2 in the second period when Brett Richardson picked off a pass in the neutral zone and scored on a breakaway giving the Trappers a 3-2 lead.

However, the Predators came out hard in the third and went on to a 5-3 victory.

Dallas Landriault had a hot hand scoring the other two Trapper goals.

The Trappers now have a couple weeks to get ready for league play November 28th and 29th when they host the Nickel City Sons for 3 games.
