The North Bay Ice Breakers played in an exhibition sledge hockey tournament over the weekend. The local squad opened with a 1-0 loss to the Ottawa Bandits on Saturday and followed that up with a 2-2 tie against the Bandits on Sunday at Memorial Gardens.
The Ice Breakers are in their fourth season hope to attend upcoming tournaments in Windsor and Ottawa. The weekend event also included a unique skills competition.
These players strive for prospects of trying out for The Canadian Sledge Hockey Team and the chance of playing on The Northern Sledge Hockey Team in the 2008 Ontario Paralympic Winter Championships.
The Ice Breakers welcome fans to join them during their Skate-A-Thon at Memorial Gardens on Sunday, November 12th from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Come sledge with us and experience Sledge Hockey...... Life on the Edge.
