It was a far cry from Colton Points famous 107 performance in the spring of 2015 with the North Bay Trappers.
The North Bay native relieved Team Canada starter in the second period of a pre-tournament contest against Switzerland Friday night in Hamilton.
Team Canada returnee Dillon Dube led the Canadians with 2 goals and 1 assist in a one-sided 8-1 win over the Swiss.
Point only faced four shots in two periods of action allowing a bizarre second goal by Guillaume Maillard that was chipped and lofted over Point’s shoulder to cut the Canadian lead to 3-1 in the second period.
Point actually faced no shots in the third period as the Canadians outshot Switzerland 61-7.
"We're a defense-focused team this year and I think we're proving that right now," Point told the Canadian Press.
"Our D blocked probably more shots than I stopped today.”
Point is the first North Bayite to play in the World Juniors since Darren Turcotte played for Team USA in 1987.
