It is a key weekend for the Nipissing Lakers men’s hockey team if they are to make a second half playoff push in the OUA East Division.
The Lakers hosted the visiting Queen's Gaels Friday night and were doubled 4-2.
Harrison Caines and Jacob Collins had the goals in the setback.
Zach Roy was between the pipes for the Lakers, finishing with 36 saves, while Nipissing had 37 shots of their own.
The loss drops the struggling Lakers to 1-12-4 on the season as the team is now winless in its last 9.
They sit only five points back of eighth place RMC Paladins.
The teams are back at it Saturday afternoon to wrap up the weekend.
Puck drop is 3 p.m. at Memorial Gardens.
