Valentine's Day was not good to the Lakers as they were blanked 3-0 by the Gryphons.

The Nipissing Lakers women’s hockey team came up short again at home Friday night, falling 3-0 to the Guelph Gryphons.

Guelph used a pair of goals in the first to take control of the game and added a third tally in the middle frame to make it three and secure the win.

Myriam Parnell had two second period goals to pace the Gryphons.

Chantelle Sandquist made 31 saves, while Nipissing had 24 shots of their own.

The Lakers sit in second spot in the OUA east with a 15-10-2-2 record and 3-7 in their last 10.

Nipissing wraps up the regular season Saturday afternoon as they host the Brock Badgers.
