North Bay U13 Girls Selects win Silver in Oshawa

The North Bay squad finished the round robin with a 3-1-0 record, advancing them to the championship game on Sunday afternoon. where they fell 6-0 to the Bradford Eagles.

The North Bay Lynx U13 Girls soccer team, part of the North Bay Selects Soccer Club, opened their season this past weekend at the Frank Sobil Spring Classic Girls tournament in Oshawa.

The North Bay squad finished the round robin with a 3-1-0 record, advancing them to the championship game on Sunday afternoon. where they fell 6-0 to the Bradford Eagles.   

In their tournament opener on Saturday morning they fell to the Bradford Eagles 2-0.  The girls came back strong that afternoon winning vs. the Mooredale club 2-1 and they continued to play strong on Sunday morning with a 3-1 win vs. Darlington Rush. Sunday afternoon, the Lynx were 2-1-0 and needed a win in their last round robin game vs. Leaside East Toronto who were 2-0-1.  North Bay scored very late in the game to win 1-0 and knock the Leaside team out of the tournament.

The Championship game saw them once again meet the Bradford Eagles who were undefeated in the tournament.  The North Bay Lynx lost 6-0.  

Despite the loss in the championship game, the girls look forward to meeting the Bradford Eagles again in their HDSL league play. 

The North Bay Lynx are led by Head Coach Tom Brotherston, Assistant Coach Daniel Goulet, Managers Jennifer L’Ami and Pam Brotherston. 

Participating players in the Frank Sobil Classic: Madison Barnes, Mya Madigan-Aultman, Hannah Lewicki, Laura Campbell, Prezzley Hutchison, Hannah Renaud, Wynter Fleury, Haylie McAnaul, Katelyn Asselin, Sekina Goulet, Tess Matthews, Annsophie Greer-Borisko, Katherine Herron, Abby L’Ami, Julia Whitehead, Shae Jeanneault, Isabella Brotherston.

The North Bay Lynx U13 girls play their first HDSL game on Saturday May 14th vs. Barrie FC at the Steve Omischl Sports Complex at 12.15.
