The U15 AA Trappers closed out their season as NOHA Finalists and silver medalists last weekend.

Round robin games included a 5-1 win over the Sudbury Timberwolves in game one.  Ben Brunton, Cam Lockhart, Charlie Hayne and Logan Meunier(2) found the back of the net in this convincing victory.  Game two found the Trappers ahead quickly against the Timmins Northstars. With goals from Meunier (3), Scott Szczygiel, Lockhart, Hayne, Ashton Millette, Caleb Moyer, Colton Loiselle, Mathias Moar and Ethan Roy, the Trappers came out on top 11-3 with Brennan Bertoncello picking up the win between the pipes.

The Trappers met up with the Timberwolves for a second time, finding themselves down 3-2 despite goals from Meunier and Moar at the end of the second period.  Taking advantage of a power play, Brunton found Szczygiel in front of the net to tie it up late in the game.  With a 3-3 final, the Trappers were sent into game four against Timmins, looking to finish the round robin undefeated.  Game four was a tight match, ending 2-2, with goals from Aydin Beharie and Brunton.  This undefeated record gave the Trappers the top seed in their division, and a semi-final match against the Kapuskasing-Hearst Regional Express.

The semi-final was scoreless after two, with solid goaltending from Logan Coates. Ben Brunton potted the only goal of the game, with a helper from Colton Loiselle, to send the Trappers to the NOHA Championship game with a 1-0 victory.

The championship game started strong, with Cam Lockhart scoring during the first shift, after a pass from linemate Brunton.  Charlie Hayne grabbed another from Brunton on the power play, however the Trappers were not able to hold on to the win, falling 4-2 to the Soo Greyhounds.

This Silver Medal from the NOHA Championship adds to the Championship Silver Stick title won in December, and this team's first place finish in the Nickel District Hockey League where they left with a record of 13-4-7, losing only 4 games throughout the season.

Coaches Guy Blanchard and Justin Roy provided strong leadership and were able to elevate the talent for each of these players, providing them with a winning season and much success.
