New multi-use courts are now available for public use

The courts, which were all but complete late last fall, will not be available for organized play or events until a final surface treatment is applied

North Bay’s new multi-use courts are now available for public use for unorganized or pick-up games on a first-come, first-served basis.

The courts, which were all but complete late last fall, will not be available for organized play or events until a final surface treatment is applied and lines are painted later this spring pending warmer weather.

Located in the Downtown and Waterfront area, nearby the North Bay Transit Terminal, the courts include one full-sized court and one half-sized court. Painted lines will accommodate basketball, ball hockey and indoor soccer.

The project was largely funded by a federal and provincial grant of more than $300,000 provided through the COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program. An official opening will take place once the outstanding work is completed.
