Movember was a hair-raising experience for the Battalion

'This effort highlights the strength and character of our group, both on and off the ice'

The North Bay Battalion was razor sharp in November and a lot of it came with some significant growth.

We aren't talking about play on the ice, but instead the team effort as the Battalion along with help from the 7th Man raised more than $15,000 through its Movember campaign.

Nate McDonald, Battalion assistant coach, led the Troops hair raising campaign.

“We’re incredibly proud of our guys for raising over $15,000 for Movember and want to thank everyone who donated," said McDonald.

"It’s a testament to their dedication to supporting men’s health, a cause that’s so important to all of us. This effort highlights the strength and character of our group, both on and off the ice.”

Movember is a fundraising November initiative in support of men's health.

Movember targets support for mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

Since 2003, Movember officials claim they have funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research, and transforming the way health services reach and support men.
