Ryan Mills tallied three times to give him goals in an impressive seven straight outings to pace the Powassan Voodoos to a 7-1 triumph over the Hearst Lumberjacks Friday in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League play at the Powassan Sportsplex.
First period play saw Powassan open the scoring four and a half minutes into the match-up with Sam Ellwood supplying his 16th with help from Noah Brant.
They then tacked on another before the session came to a close as Riley Pitt put the hosts up by a pair heading to the intermission.
Not done there, Parker Bowman bagged his 37th tally of the year just 37 seconds into the second stanza.
Halfway through, Mills picked up his first of the night, which was his 20th of the season.
Mills and Mathew Hardwick added additional goals in the third as Powassan went up by six before Hearst defenceman Austin Heidt picked up his first of the year at 11:11 to dash the shutout bid of Powassan affiliate netminder Ty Miller, who was making his first NOJHL start.
Mills then completed his three-goal night after that to round out the scoring.
Seiji Martone had three assists to aid the winners offensive cause.
Miller finished with 27 stops to get his first NOJHL victory.
Caleb VanHeest started for the Lumberjacks and suffered the loss, allowing four while Liam Oxner gave up the final three in nearly 31 minutes of relief.
The Voodoos and Lumberjacks meet again Saturday night at the Powassan Sportsplex. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
