For the 7th time in 9 years, youth bowlers from Partners Billiards & Bowling will be competing on the national stage.
Sixteen youth bowlers competed among 180 bowlers in the third step of the YBC National Championships (4 Steps to Stardom) tournament at the Northern Ontario Provincials on March 3rd and 4th,2018 at Partners Bowling in North Bay and Chatelaines in Sturgeon Falls.
Capturing Gold Medals in their respective categories include:
- Sadie Tremblay in the Bantam Girls Singles category
- Liam Smith in the Senior Boys Singles category
Capturing Bronze Medals in their category:
- Gavin Dewar, Elijah Robillard and Coach Ginette MacLean in the Bantam Boys Doubles category
- Kyrsten Tremblay, Emma Starcevic and Coach Natasha Tremblay in the Senior Girls Doubles category
- Nicholas MacLean, Thomas Williams and Coach Tom Williams in the Senior Boys Doubles category.
Sadie, who is in her final year of the Bantam division will be competing at the Nationals for the 2nd consecutive year in the same category. Last year she placed 6th at Nationals and she will be looking to improve on that position.
Smith will be competing in his 5th YBC Nationals. Just like his sister Sadie, he will be looking at passing his previous best 6th place finish. had just finished competing at the Ontario Winter Games in Orillia on Mar 2nd-3rd where he and his Northern Ontario team captured the gold medal in the mixed division.
Sadie and Liam will join two other gold medal winners from our zone: Felicity Eckensviller from Haileybury in the Junior Girls Singles category and Chase Stahls from Parry Sound in the Junior Boys Singles category.
