North Bay's Carlie Pappano has been named a West Division First All-Star.
In women’s volleyball, Pappano of North Bay and MacKenzie Selk of Sudbury were both named West Division First Team All-Stars in the Ontario College Athletic Association (OCAA).
Pappano, who started her OCAA volleyball career with the Canadore Panthers, now plays for the Cambrian Shield out of Sudbury.
Cambrian’s men’s and women’s volleyball head coach, Dale Beausoleil, was named OCAA Coach of the Year and OCAA West Division Men’s Coach of the Year.
“We are so happy for coach Beausoleil and our players who have earned all-star status this year,” says Tim Yu, Cambrian’s Manager of Athletics in a release.
“Our volleyball teams have improved so much in recent years and having so many players make the all-star teams is proof of how well the volleyball program is progressing.”
Both the Cambrian Shield men’s and women’s squads are in the OCAA quarter-finals this weekend.The women’s team is on the road at Humber College in Toronto for a Saturday afternoon matinee at 1 p.m.
