The North Bay Jr. Lakers Volleyball Club has won another Gold Medal.
This weekend, the Jr. Lakers U14 Drip girls team won top honours at the Ontario Volleyball Association’s Bugarski Cup.
The team played in Orillia, Ontario as part of the Championship E Division.
The Drip were ranked 5th going into the tournament and finished pool play with one win and one loss. In the afternoon crossover game, they defeated the Barrie Elites Force in 3 sets (25-17, 15-25, and 6-15). The team fought through 4 three set games, being down a set for each game and coming out on top.
In the semi-final came, the Jr. Lakers Drip played against the PVC Voltage in a 2-1 win (12-25, 25-16, 15-11). The Drip kept up the winning streak into the finals and overtook the Northern Chill Blue Ice in 2 close sets (25-19, 25-18), winning the gold medal. This is the last OVA tournament before going to Ontario Provincials in April.
