North Bay's Nick Huard has signed with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the East Coast Hockey League.
The former Midget AAA Trapper will join the club immediately and look to help the Cyclones gear up for the ECHL playoffs.
During the 2014-2015 regular season with the Guelph Gryphons, Huard led the team with 28 points in 26 games played.
Huard says it feels amazing signing a professional hockey deal.
"! think back on my on my career so far and the path I took to get to this point, so signing this contract is pretty sweet," Huard told BayToday.ca on Friday afternoon.
This marked the second straight year Huard finished the regular season as the team's leading scorer.
In the postseason, Nick continued to produce, registering 15 points in 12 playoff games.
The two-time OUA All-Star was instrumental in helping the Gryphons capture their first OUA title since 1997, while also securing a CIS bronze medal at the 2015 University Cup in Halifax.
The Cincinnati Cyclones are affiliated with the Nashville Predators and the Florida Panthers of the NHL.
