The North Bay Granite Club is proud to be hosting the Northern Ontario Curling Association's U21 Women's Provincial Curling Championship next week (December 27th - 30th). One the top teams will advance to the Canadian Juniors taking place at the Archie Browning Sports Centre in Victoria, BC January 21st - 29th, 2017.
A local curler will be in the spotlight as the defending champion and vice-skip for one of the most favoured teams.
North Bay’s Kate Sherry, along with her Sudbury teammates Kira Brunton (skip), Mikaela Cheslock (second), and Emma Johnson (lead) have invested a great deal of time and effort towards achieving their goals of becoming Canada’s next generation of high performance curlers.
Spectators are invited to be in attendance while this story unfolds. Although there is no formal admission fee, we will be asking for donations to the club's Capital Fund at the door. Please visit our website for more information and a schedule of events: northbaycurling.com/u21.
Some volunteers are required to time games, update online scoring, assist the chief umpire (on-ice), bartend, and welcome guests. If you are interested, please write back with game times that you are available for.
