Transport accident closes Highway 11 for five hours

OPP say the driver of the tractor-trailer, a 27-year-old Brampton man, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act

On December 12,  shortly before 8 a.m., Temiskaming Detachment OPP officers and the Temiskaming District Emergency Medical Services responded to a call for a motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 in Dymond Township, north of Temiskaming Shores.

Investigation revealed that a passenger car and tractor-trailer were travelling southbound when the collision occurred. The occupant of the passenger vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital as a precautionary measure.

The highway was closed and fully re-opened five hours later at approximately 1 p.m.
