Dr. Michael Stemp, Chief Technology Officer, Next Hydrogen Corporation will speak to the North Bay and District Canadian Club at the Best Western on Wednesday, Feb. 20.
He'll be speaking on the role of hydrogen in a clean energy future
"Jurisdictions around the world are transitioning away from carbon-based energy systems," says a release from the club.
"From power production to transportation we are seeing a move towards the decarbonization of our infrastructure. The growing awareness surrounding climate change, and the effects of air pollution on global health, are two of the main factors driving the demand for cleaner alternatives. Despite its promise and widespread industrial use, hydrogen has been slow to be adopted as a 'cleantech' solution."
Stemp will discuss the coming “Hydrogen Economy”, what initiatives are currently being undertaken in Canada, and locally, and why Northern regions are best positioned to benefit from the adoption of hydrogen technologies.
This is a luncheon event beginning at noon. Tickets available at Northgate(community booth) on Wednesday, Feb 13, 1-4, and North Bay Mall (outside No Frills) on Friday, Feb 15, 1-4.
