Bet this guy wished he'd filled up at the last gas station.
On Saturday at approximately 1 a.mm Provincial Constable Jason Golds stopped to help a motorist on the side of Highway 17 near Pembroke with the vehicle's 4-way flashers on.
The motorist explained that he had run out of gas.
But further investigation revealed the man had been drinking, and was promptly arrested for impaired driving.
A search of the vehicle revealed a white substance believed to be cocaine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and ammunition.
The man is currently on a 10-year court order prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Following breath tests at the detachment Christopher Roberts, 27, of Ottawa was held for a bail hearing charged with:
- impaired driving,
- driving over 80mgs,
- possession of ammunition while prohibited,
- possession of cocaine,
- possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking,
- driving while under suspension and
- driving without a currently validated permit.
