OPP in the Central Region have ticked a BMW driver for having red lights on the front of his vehicle.
"Red lights facing forward are only for emergency vehicles - though a BMW cruiser would be fun." says an OPP tweet. "Please ensure you educate yourself on rules before modifying your car."
The offence carries a $110 fine.
The Highway Traffic Act, clearly states that "a police department vehicle may carry lamps that cast red and blue lights or an amber light, but no other motor vehicle shall carry any lamp that casts red and blue lights to the front."
The lights are commonly available on the internet.
