The Powassan Lions’ Club will host its annual Fish Fry again this spring.

"For decades, this has been the biggest event that the Powassan club hosts and its members are more than ready to serve you, your family, and friends the delicious fish dinner you’ve come to expect," says a news release.

The Fish Fry raises money to fund and help continue the good work the club contributes to the community.

"It’s a tremendous opportunity for community members to get out and meet their neighbours as they assemble for a delicious and nutritious meal of pan-fried fish, baked potatoes, beans, salads, desserts and beverages," says Fish Fry Chair Pete van Amelsfoort.

In addition to a hearty meal, patrons can enjoy a beverage from the cash bar, and purchase tickets on the 50/50 draw.

This year’s Fish Fry is once again held at the Powassan Curling Club where its volunteers work alongside Lions Club and community members to prepare the venue for the annual fundraiser.

“At past Fish Fry’s we served in excess of 350 dinners, and are stocked up to meet or exceed that number again this year” exclaims van Amelsfoort.

Dinner will be served between 5 and 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19. Cost is $25 per person.
