North Bay's image. It's about the little things says Thompson

'If we are going to showcase our city, the new council must make sure that streets especially the high traffic ones are looking beautiful even the down to small details'

A candidate for council says North Bay has to take care of details when it comes to the city's image, and points to West Ferris as an example.

"Once again as I get out door knocking, I am hearing more and more that the new council must look after the small details," says David Thompson. "Case in point is the growing weeds alongside the sidewalks of Lakeshore Drive in West Ferris. This is in no way commenting on Public Works staff as the new council must provide the resources for them to do their job right across the city.

"If we are going to showcase our city, the new council must make sure that streets especially the high traffic ones are looking beautiful even the down to small details such as the growing weeds. The waterfront is our jewel; due to in large part to the Heritage Gardeners and their dedicated team of volunteers who provide their expertise and hard work.

"West Ferris or any part of our city should have the same standards and attention. When selling a house, first impressions are key selling tool and if we want to grow our city by retaining or attracting residents, it is the curb appeal that matters."
