Ontario Provincial Police Commissioner Vince Hawkes has named Inspector Scott Hlady as the new Traffic and Marine Unit Commander for the North East Region.
Hlady brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to the position of Unit Commander as a direct result of this 19-year career with the Ontario Provincial Police.
He served as a general patrol officer at the Sioux Lookout Detachment up until 2001 when he transferred to the Forensic Identification Services team in Thunder Bay. He served on this specialized team until 2013 where he was promoted to Staff Sergeant – Regional Manager of Forensic Identification Services for North East Region. During this time he assisted with several homicide investigations and successfully certified as a Bloodstain Pattern Analyst. I
Inspector Hlady was promoted to his new role as the Unit Commander of the North East Region Traffic and Marine program.
