Hope Awaits Ministries is a new men’s homeless shelter in North Bay.

This ministry was first started in 2013, and a team of devoted individuals has been working hard ever since to see this shelter become a reality says a news release from the group.

Hope Awaits Ministries was able to purchase a building located at 390 First Ave E. on May 2, 2016.

"Since then our team has been renovating the building in order for it to suit our needs," says executive director Nicole Millage.

Board Members include Millage, John Pace, Gene McGlashing, and Emily Gray.

Hope Awaits will be holding its official grand opening on Saturday, April 28th, from 1 to 4 p.m.  There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. followed by tours of the facility as well as opportunities to talk to the board and executive director about the ministry.  The official opening date to house men in need will be Tuesday, May 1st.

Once Hope Awaits Ministries is open, it will be able to house four men at a time, and will be working with clients to get them re-established in the community and living in their own home.

"Through the years of working to open this ministry we have continually seen the need in our city for a warm, safe place for homeless men.  It is our desire to fill that need, and to impact our community by helping those who are in greatest need," said Millage. "There are a lot of men on our streets who need our help and are worth saving."
