On behalf of the 40 communities of the Anishinabek Nation, Grand Council Chief Patrick Madahbee sends out his congratulations to Karen Restoule for her recent appointment as full-time Associate Chair of the Ontario Parole Board.
"It is so gratifying to see Karen continuing her excellent path,” says Grand Council Chief Madahbee. “She is a great role model for First Nations youth."
Restoule is a citizen of Dokis First Nation. She is a graduate of the University of Ottawa’s French Common Law Program and completed articles in the areas of criminal and poverty law.
The Ontario Parole Board is an independent quasi-judicial tribunal responsible for considering applications for supervised conditional release of adult offenders sentenced to less than two years to an Ontario provincial correctional institution under the Ministry of Correctional Services Act.
