Hike for Hospice is a hybrid event taking place on Thanksgiving Weekend. On Friday, October 11 at noon will be an in-person event with a barbeque and hike around the hospice property and some of the surrounding area with ambassador Barb Spencer, and title sponsor representative, Dan Degagne from Degagne Group of Companies.
Leading up to the date, participants are encouraged to register as an individual or a team, raise funds, and then celebrate their accomplishments with a hike or walk in their community, or with us at Nipissing Serenity Hospice.
Since opening our doors in 2020, it has served more than 450 residents, their caregivers, and families. This year’s theme is Honouring our Residents! Families are encouraged to create team pages in their loved ones’ memories.
Businesses are also encouraged to take part in the Corporate Challenge, a competition to raise the most funds as a corporate team with the winner receiving a trophy and coffee break at their place of work. Top individual fundraisers will also receive awards.
Nipissing Serenity Hospice provides palliative care in a peaceful setting for people of all ages at the end of life, as well as support for their loved ones. The programs and services offered at Nipissing Serenity Hospice are free of charge to those in our region.
"Nipissing Serenity Hospice relies on the generosity of our community and 100% of the funds raised stay local. Our goal this year is $75,000 and we have already raised over $72,000."
