People can get annoyed when dogs are allowed to run free by their owners in parks, but it seldom escalates to this extent.
OPP report that on Monday afternoon they were called to an assault happening at a park area in Elliot Lake.
The female complainants reported that their dog had escaped its leash in the park area and another group of people in the park were very upset with the situation.
Pictures were being taken of each other's actions and a heated argument broke out. It resulted in the dog owners being assaulted by three people, two of whom are in their late fifties, in the other group.
The following were arrested and charged:
Ann Marie Templeman, 56, of Elliot Lake:
- Assault,
Tony Templeman, 59, of Elliot Lake,
- Two counts of assault with a weapon (police did not disclose the weapon used)
Michael MacInnis, 26, of Elliot Lake,
- Assault,
The accused parties are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake, on September 11.
