This scanner is used to find the microchip in a dog or cat, leading to its owner.

The North Bay Humane Society’s annual Barkfest Microchip Clinic and Community BBQ, presented by Coldwell Banker Peter Minogue Real Estate Brokerage, is set for Saturday, June 8 from 10 am to 1

Cost for a microchip is $30 or $45 with a City of North Bay license.

Microchips are a form of permanent identification for your pets that are embedded just under the skin between the shoulder blades. Microchip information is accessible through a global database used by veterinarians, rescues, and shelters worldwide, making it easy for lost pets to be quickly reunited with their families.

This year’s event features a Community BBQ and Coldwell Banker’s Cutest Pet Contest.

For the first time, pup cups will be available for a donation so that family pets can join in on the fun!
