In honour of Library Week in Ontario, Powassan and District Union Public Library is hosting a "Live Library" Event this Saturday October 22, from 10-12 noon. Live Library is much like speed dating. People come for a 15 minute chat, and can stay for more conversations. But, at Live Library, the conversations are with various experts in their field. Advance bookings can be made by phone, email, or in person. Or, you can just drop in Saturday morning. There will be plenty of coffee, tea, and goodies.
Our list of experts includes-
Vic Fedeli, MPP
Markus Schwabe, CBC Morning North host from Sudbury
Jeff Turl, baytoday.ca in North Bay
Rene Dubois, owner and head chef at White Owl Bistro in North Bay
Anne Dockendorff, Master Gardener
Dave Wardley, OPP
David Moore, anthropologist
Richard Paul, funeral director, Paul's Funeral Home
Lori Hogan, hair dresser
Dr. Dielle Raymond, naturopath doctor in North Bay
Jared Dupuis, Maple Hill Health and Fitness
Debbie Piper, owner of Castle Building Centre, Powassan
Esther Yoder- Amish 'Martha Stewart" of Chisholm Township- homemaker and farmer
Dean Raven, REMAX agent
Pete Bonell, pilot and former Avro Arrow employee
Everyone is invited to 'take out' an expert for a chat, instead of a book. Drop in to Powassan and District Union Public Library this Saturday. Stay for 15 minutes, or the entire morning. As library CEO Marie Rosset likes to say: "a visit will get you thinking!"
