In the early morning hours of November 25, North Bay Police responded to a report of a domestic at a home in Callander.
Police say the accused and his female partner had an argument that turned violent when he assaulted the victim with an open hand.
He then refused to let her leave the room they were in. Eventually the accused left the room and a threat was made at that time.
During the police investigation, it was determined that a previous assault had occurred in October of this year.
As a result of the investigation police have arrested and charged:a 34-year-old man from Callander with:
- Utter a Death threat;
- Two counts of assault; and
- Unlawful Confinement.
In order to protect the identity of the victim, police say they will not be releasing the name of the accused.
The accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
