A winter weather travel advisory is in effect until tonight.

Locally heavy snowfall with accumulations near 10 cm is expected with poor visibility at times in heavy snow.

The heaviest snowfall is expected this morning and afternoon.

A low-pressure system is bringing heavy snowfall and there is a risk of freezing drizzle in the wake of the system.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly.

A weather advisory is in effect for:

  • North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa
  • Sudbury
  • South River - Burk's Falls
  • West Nipissing - French River

A snowfall Warning is in effect for:

  • Huntsville
  • Parry Sound

Snowfall Warning in effect for:

  • Huntsville - Baysville

Significant snowfall is expected today.

Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm is possible.

Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 3 cm per hour will produce poor visibility in areas of heavier snow this morning through tonight.

Snow will taper off to flurries with a risk of freezing drizzle tonight. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
