Update: most power restored, (Widespread hydro outage in North Bay)

Update 10:20 p.m.

"The Hydro One power issue has been resolved, but we still have an outage on Hwy 11N. We are investigating the issue," says North Bay Hydro.

"There is a power outage on Hwy 11N area. Approximately 350 customers are affected. The cause is unknown and crews are investigating. Restoration time is estimated to be midnight."

Earlier this afternoon, Hydro reported  "North Bay Hydro is aware of an outage in the Peninsula Rd area affecting approximately 200 customers. The cause of the outage is due to multiple tree contacts. Repairs are in progress. Updated estimated restoration time is 5:00 pm.

"If you encounter a downed power line stay as far away as possible, and notify North Bay Hydro immediately."

A widespread power outage hit the city around 10 p.m.

Hydro tweeting "We have a widespread power outage caused by a Hydro One feeder issue. We are working to resolve the situation."

City police report, "Extensive power outage across the city. Still waiting for more specific details. Many intersections with lights out. Stay home if possible, drive carefully if you are out. We will provide updates when available."

Earlier this evening, power outages hit the Hwy 63,  Four Mile Lake Rd, Widdifield Stn Rd, Chadbourne Dr and HWY 11 North areas.
