It appears a new restaurant will be opening up in the former Chicago Cafe location at 167 Main Street West in downtown North Bay.

Lou Dawgs Southern BBQ, a Canadian company which was founded in 2009, is moving into the main street location, according to their Facebook page.

“Soon to be serving southern BBQ, Blues, bourbon, beer and good times in North Bay,”  officials from Lou Dawgs stated.

North Bay would become the fifth Lou Dawgs franchise in Ontario joining Toronto, Hamilton, Waterloo and London.

The historical Chicago Cafe restaurant closed its doors at this Main Street location back in the spring of 2017 and was a family-run restaurant for close to 80 years.

The new restaurant is hoping to have its doors open to the public by the fall.
