Fedeli and his team shared video footage (see above) of his short speech on social media, accompanied by:
"Ontario is the United States’ third-largest trading partner, driving nearly half a trillion dollars in two-way trade every year.
"When Ontario and the U.S. collaborate, both of our economies thrive, creating more good-paying jobs on both sides of the border.
"We look forward to visiting Washington later this year to continue strengthening our vital relationship."

On Wednesday, Ford released a statement hailing the victors. He also focused on trade relations:
"I am optimistic about the opportunities that lie ahead for more trade and co-operation between Ontario and the United States. We have enormous potential to provide the critical minerals needed for electric vehicle batteries and other new technologies and as a safe and secure source for the clean and reliable nuclear energy needed to power America’s economic growth. That’s why we must adopt a “Buy Can-Am” mindset that creates new jobs and opportunities for workers and businesses on both sides of the border."
