UPDATED: Traffic accident on Airport Road

Both vehicles involved were towed away, and the intersection was back in normal operation by 3 p.m.

Update:

Police say that the collision occurred at 1:41 p.m.

The male driver of jeep was travelling eastbound on Airport Road while the male driver of car was travelling westbound on Airport Road, making a left hand turn onto O’Brien at the time.

The jeep hit the car.

Following an investigation, North Bay Police charged the driver of the car (the vehicle making the left hand turn) with impaired driving and drive over 80.

Other sources tell BayToday that the blood alcohol level of the car driver was 0.26. 

Four people taken to hospital. Two adults in the black Jeep and a toddler all were taken to hospital for non life threatening injuries.

The driver of the other car was also taken to hospital.

A traffic accident at intersection of Airport and O'Brien around 2 p.m. yesterday (Sunday) snarled traffic on the busy road for about an hour as police directed vehicles around the scene.

There was a heavily damaged small, four-door black car that was in a collision with a black Jeep.

Police, Fire and Ambulance were on the scene. Both vehicles involved were towed away, and the intersection was back in normal operation by 3 p.m. 

No details yet on charges or injuries.
