Think you've got a great garden?

"Although the certificates are fun to receive, most gardeners are pleased just to have their gardens seen in the community,”

North Bay Blooms judges will be heading out into the community shortly to judge this summer’s gardens.

Canada Post carriers have again helped with nominations.

Individual nominations of a friend or even your own garden are welcome for the next few days.

Once the North Bay Horticultural Society judges have whittled down the initial nominations to the top 10, the North Bay Master Gardeners help with the final selection of top three expected to be announced by the end of July.

North Bay Blooms Chair Geri Openshaw is delighted with the nominations received so far this year despite a lack or rain. The abundant sunshine has brought out some wonderful floral colours around town.

First place receives a $200 garden centre certificate while second and third place each receive a $100 certificate.

"Although the certificates are fun to receive, most gardeners are pleased just to have their gardens seen in the community,” said Openshaw.
