Strong southwesterly winds a hazard this weekend

A cold front associated with a strengthening area of low pressure will move across the area Saturday night

High winds are in the forecast.

Strong winds will begin late Saturday afternoon and end early Sunday morning says Environment Canada.

The strong south-to-southwesterly winds will produce gusts of 70 to 80 km/h with isolated gusts of 90 km/h.

A cold front associated with a strengthening area of low pressure will move across the area Saturday night. Strong southerly winds beginning late Saturday afternoon ahead of the front will veer to southwesterly late Saturday evening. Winds will begin to ease before dawn Sunday morning.

  • Temiskaming Shores - Temagami
  • Port Carling - Port Severn
  • Town of Parry Sound - Rosseau - Killbear Park

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage and Isolated power outages are possible.
