IROQUOIS FALLS, ON - Jack Jarvis broke a 1-1 tie in the final minute of the third period as the Iroquois Falls Storm edged the visiting Powassan Voodoos 2-1 at the Jus Jordan arena on Sunday afternoon.

The Voodoos opened the scoring on the power play as captain Jackson Smith whistled a shot that was tipped home by Caden Dubreuil in the slot on an early power play only 4:42 into the opening frame.

The Storm got a great opportunity to even the score late in the first period when Jordan Mayo was awarded a penalty shot at 18:34. He went in and tried to deke rto his right but Voodoos starter Tyson Wilcox held his ground and made the save to keep it 1-0 Voodoos after the first period.

The Storm got the equalizer on a great individual effort by Andre Cho who drove wide and cut in front of Voodoos goalie Tyson Wilcox and chipped home the equalizer at 4:52 of the second period.

In the late stages of the third period the Voodoos poured on the pressure - especially during a late Storm penalty kill but goaltender Matis Bureau came up with multiple saves to keep the score at 1-1.

That set the stages for the dramatic victory as Jarvis took a feed from Remi Gendron and and and his quick release from just outside the slot found its way by Wilcox for the game winner.

The loss ends a tough weekend for the Voodoos, who fell 6-4 on Friday to the unbeaten Timmins Rock, and then had a game postponed against Hearst due to a highway closure on Friday night and into Saturday morning.

The Voodoos fall to 1-3 on the season. They are back on home ice Saturday night in Powassan as they take on the French River Rapids.
