Fresh off his second straight Stanley Cup, former North Bay Battalion star Barclay Goodrow is on the move.
The hard-working two-way forward became a free agent after the Tampa Bay Lightning's second straight Stanley Cup championship as they disposed of the underdog Montreal Canadiens 4-1 in the best-of-seven Stanley Cup final series.
Goodrow was traded to the New York Rangers for a 7th round pick in 2022 NHL Entry Draft
The trade allows the Rangers to attempt to negotiate a new contract with Goodrow prior to the start of the Free Agent season on July 28.
The trade was part of a flurry of moves made across the league as teams needed to send in their protected lists in preparation for the Seattle Kraken's expansion draft which takes place on Wednesday, July 21.

Goodrow was renowned for his great defensive play and his timely playoff offence this playoff season. The Lightning went to Twitter to express its appreciation for their now former player.
Thank you for absolutely everything, @bgoodrow23.
