Snowfall warning for late afternoon

Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm are expected before the snow changes to rain overnight or early Monday

Environment Canada has issued s snowfall warning for:

  • North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa
  • West Nipissing - French River
  • Greater Sudbury and vicinity
  • Bayfield Inlet - Dunchurch
  • Town of Parry Sound - Rosseau - Killbear Park

Heavy snow is expected to begin late this afternoon. Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected before the snow changes to rain overnight or early Monday morning. A brief period of freezing rain is possible during the transition to rain.

Tonight, snow at times heavy and local blowing snow changing to a few rain showers or snow before morning. Risk of freezing rain before morning. Snowfall amount 10 to 15 cm. Wind east 30 km/h gusting to 50. The temperature rises to zero by morning. Wind chill minus 16 this evening and minus 8 overnight.

A winter storm warning is in effect for:

  • South River - Burk's Falls
  • Huntsville - Baysville


The snow is due to a low pressure system that will track east across the Great Lakes today through Monday.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
