The Ontario Provincial Police and the Ministry of Transportation are reporting that Highway 11 North is closed from Bay Truck Stop north of North Bay and Marten River.
The OPP reported the closure due to a collision around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
"The highway is currently closed in both directions between North Bay and Highway 64. The closure is expected to remain in place for an extended period as investigators work at the scene," the OPP stated in a social media post Saturday afternoon.
The incident comes while motorists have been dealing with a freezing rain warning in the region. Around noon Environment Canada ended its Freezing Rain Warning for the North Bay area but continued the Warning for the Temagami-Temiskaming Shores region.
