A 21-year-old North Bay man remains in custody and will appear in bail court on June 12 concerning additional charges that were laid in a recent Birchaven shooting investigation. The suspect now faces 19 charges in connection with the shooting which left the victim in serious condition in hospital.

Cameron Patrick Wright, a 21-year-old male from North Bay is additionally charged with;
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Tampering with the serial number of a firearm
- Careless storage of a firearm
- Careless storage of ammunition
- Possession of a Scheduled 1 substance
The NBPS Criminal Investigations Unit is continuing its investigation into the shooting which took place in the early morning hours of June 5, in the schoolyard of Holy Cross School in the Birchaven neighbourhood of the city.
A search warrant was obtained and the following items were seized by police:
- A loaded semi-automatic 22-calibre rifle
- Various ammunition
- 57 MDMA pills (ecstasy comes in pill or powder form)
The charges laid as a result of the search warrant, are in addition to the 13 criminal charges initially laid by police at the time of the incident.
- Attempt murder using a restricted firearm
- Aggravated assault
- Careless use of a firearm
- Pointing a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a loaded restricted firearm
- Discharge a restricted firearm with intent
- Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
- Possession of prohibited ammunition
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Utter threats
