Serre goes to Church

Benoit Serre will be supporting Susan Church in her question to win the Nipissing-Timiskaming federal Liberal nomination.

Serre, the MP for Temiskaming-Cochrane, announced his support for three candidates in the ridings of Nipissing-Timiskaming, Nickel Belt and Timmins-James Bay.

Nickel Belt MP Ray Bonin receives Serre's support, as does Ray Chenier in Timmins-James Bay.

Church is receiving his support, Serre said, since he has known her for almost 12 years.

"I had the opportunity to work closely with her when she was an assistant to Bob Wood, and I saw first hand how hard working and effective she can be," Serre stated in a news release.

"She has also shown a lot of interest for the Tri-Towns and is the only candidate who has tried to save our riding."

Timiskaming-Cochrane is being divided up among Nickel Belt, Timmins-James Bay and Nipissing.

No date has been set yet for the nomination meeting.
