Minister of Natural Resources David Ramsay also made a stop in North Bay today.

Ramsay dropped into the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority bearing good news on two fronts.

The minister first announced $329,286 in funding for a project that will address the issue of ‘Water Source Protection Plans’ for the province.

The second announcement Ramsay made was to give permission to the Conservation Authority to move ahead with the sale of excess properties and to allow them to keep the proceeds from the sales.

While Marc Charron, chair of the authority board, was not specific at to which properties would be sold, he did confirm that the sale of lands will help the NBMCA start the painful process of paying down the debt and getting back to the business that they do best.

Charron also stated that the $329,286 in funding for ‘Water Source Protection Plans’ will help Ontario lead the world with its water.
