The North Bay Battalion used a different form of attention to detail on Tuesday.
Anthony Romani, Owen Van Steensel and Ethan Procyszyn traded in their hockey sticks for icing guns to support the Tim Horton's Smile Cookie Campaign.
The sweet event took place at the Tim Hortons located on Highway 17 near Jocko Point at the Wolves Den Gas Bar.
The boys made cookies and signed autographs for the lucky fans who attended.
"I mean coming to these events, helping the community out is special," noted Procyszyn. "The fans give so much to us, so coming out. and helping as much as you can to give back is fun."
Lorie Young, owner of the Tim Hortons at the Wolves Dan Gas Bar, says the money raised will help an organization at Nipissing First Nation.
"All sales of smile cookies will go to Nipissing First Nation Walking Alongside Services," she said.
"They provide recreational activities for the youth of the communities, they bring them out camping, they put on cultural events, language events and stuff like that. So I just wanted to contribute back to the community, and having these boys come out, you know, they're a big part of the community, and they give a lot to the community."
Anthony Romani is familiar with the Youngs, as they were the billets for Dalyn Wakely and are big supporters of the North Bay Battalion along with many other local hockey organizations in the area.
"I think it's great, especially when someone like Lorie you can give back to her too and help her out. Because she has done a lot for us. I mean, we were at their billet house all the time to see Wakely, she has a luxury box with the team. So it's great to give back to the community," said Romani.
The Tim Horton's Smile Cookie Campaign takes place from November 18 to 24.
